Penn Farm- kids planting crops
Last summer we spent the day at Penn Farm and I had a great time capturing shots of the children and old historic farm buildings. Of course, the photos sat on my computer and by the time I thought of posting them summer had passed and it just didn’t feel right. The wonderful thing about summer is it comes back every year, so here they are!
For a bit of background, Penn Farm is located in New Castle, Delaware and all of New Castle is part of a trust started by none other than William Penn himself. He gave the land to be used for the good of the commons and parts of it have been farmed ever since. Delaware Greenways is the current tenant and they are involved with community engagement programs along with helping farming enterprises. The mission of Penn Farm is Cultivating Awareness. Connecting Communities: A Farm for Our Times. The Penn Farm website is here.
